Welcome to the Work/Life Wellness Web site for University Human Resources!

The University of Virginia is committed to providing and supporting various Employee Assistance Programs for its Faculty and Staff. Work/Life Wellness programs help the University's diverse population find solutions to the daily challenges of personal, work, and family life. The programs provide information and referrals to assist with all kinds of life events and to help manage unexpected disruptions of work or study.

For concerns ranging from workplace stress to caring for a young child or other family members, employees of the University of Virginia have access to a wide variety of resources to help them integrate their work and life responsibilities.

U.Va. Employee Health and Wellness Programs
  • Faculty and Employee Assistance Programs: The Faculty and Employee Assistance Program assists organizations to maximize employee productivity and to help employees identify and resolve personal concerns that may affect job performance. They offer individualized, confidential assessments based on clinically-sound standards, brief counseling and appropriate community referrals as necessary. They also provide consultation to supervisors and managers to assist in addressing employee/team challenges.
  • Health Risk Appraisals: Complete a Personal Wellness Profile, which is used to determine your current health profile, and can help you make decisions to manage your health.
  • Risk Reduction Programs
    • No Sweat - Presented by a registered dietitian and exercise specialist, this 6 week program focuses on improving strength, flexibility, weight and cardiovascular endurance, through regular 10 minute bursts of exercise and energy-fueling changes in eating.
    • Change of Heart - Presented by a physician and registered dietitian, this comprehensive 6 week program focuses on reducing your employees' risk of cardiovascular disease.

Healthy Virginians
The Healthy Virginians program works to promote healthy lifestyles in our workplaces, our schools and among families who receive health care through Medicaid. With public and private partners from around the state and beyond, Healthy Virginians wants to make YOU the healthiest you can be. More...

WellBeing
Southern Health introduces WellBeing, a self-care and wellness program. WellBeing offers tools and support to our members who are trying to improve their overall well-being. With WellBeing you have access to a variety of free or discounted services that include:

The Healthy Roads program at Southern Health website offers UVa Health plan members an opportunity to purchase health products such as vitamins at a discounted price. Please note that discounts on Healthy Roads providers do not apply to UVa Health plan members.
