Promotion and Transfer

The University encourages its employees to prepare themselves for and take advantage of promotional opportunities that may exist within the University in order to reach their highest level of potential and job fulfillment.

To assist employees seeking other University positions, information about job openings is available on-line in the Jobs@UVA system. These listings are updated daily and provide the employee with basic job data on positions currently available.

The application process is the same for the promotion/transfer applicants as for the external applicant for employment. A UVa salaried employee is permitted time off without loss of pay for a reasonable number of interviews for transfer or promotion within the University.
