Employment of Minors
The University does not employ any person under sixteen years of age. Certain positions that require the use of hazardous equipment or exposure to hazardous materials may require a minimum age of eighteen years.
The hiring department must be knowledgeable of state regulations pertaining to minors with reference to hours of work, time records requirements, hazardous occupations, payment of wages, establishment of regular pay period, equal pay without regard to sex, discrimination because of physical handicaps, and the Minimum Wage Act.
