Salary Determiniation and Employment Offer

It is the University's policy to pay a competitive salary that will attract suitably qualified applicants for job openings, consistent with the Commonwealth of Virginia Compensation Plan.

Salaries are determined by the applicant's educational background and experience, the job class, job-related salary history, the availability of funds, and the impact to other employees in the department and the University.

University Recruitment & Staffing and the department representative will establish an appropriate starting salary. University Recruitment & Staffing will officially extend a conditional offer of employment on behalf of the University. In order to ensure consistent administration of the pay policies, all offers of staff employment must be extended by University Human Resources.
