Dual Employment
The University discourages dual employment as a staffing option and strictly controls the approval process involving employees who hold more than one job at the University.
Dual employments may be approved when all of the following conditions are met:
- The need is justified as a "business necessity."
- It is not possible to assign the duties and responsibilities to someone else in the department.
- The need is temporary.
The UVa Request for Dual Employment form should be submitted to UVaTEMPS for approval of a dual employment. If approval is granted, UVaTEMPS will coordinate the employment fee. All dual employments require the approval UVATEMPS.
