Specifically, we proactively research and reach out to prospective candidates, make sure the candidate has an informed, professional experience with UVa and ensure an efficient search process.

Candidate Sourcing
  • Develop recruitment strategies to attract an outstanding, diverse pool of candidates and create an appropriate Strategic Recruitment and Advertising Plan tailored to your specific opportunity and within your budget.
  • Perform research focused on peer institution and relevant business fields.
  • Conduct mail, telephone and email campaigns, actively reaching to prospective candidates.
  • Contact top associations and member listings in appropriate areas.
  • Consult Committee members and other subject matter experts.
  • Provide follow-up and personalized recruitment contact with all referred candidates.
Candidate Management
  • Provide a consistent search process for candidates through regular availability as their primary contact.
  • Answer questions regarding the role, the department, the University, benefits, relocation, etc.
  • Update candidates and finalists regarding their status throughout the search.
  • Assist finalists with travel and lodging arrangements.
  • Provide information on spousal and partner employment assistance.
Process Management
  • Maintain close partnership with Hiring Official and Chair.
  • Assist with the development of the job description, the Strategic Recruitment and Advertising Plan, the completion of online forms for EOP, pre-screen and candidate tracking documents, and the creation of interview questions, candidate assessment summaries and Feedback Reports for the Hiring Official.
  • Provide counsel to the Committee regarding its responsibilities, including candidate assessment and confidentiality.
  • Present resume binders with pre-sorted, screened groups of candidates to Search Committee.
  • Schedule telephone and on-grounds interviews.
  • Provide escort for the candidate throughout the day on Grounds as well as transportation to and from the hotel or airport.
  • Conduct reference and background checks.
  • Assist with smooth and timely expense management process.
  • Provide summary of the Committee and stakeholder recommendations in the Feedback Report to Hiring Official.
