UNIVERSITY PAYROLL EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES

Questions Concerning University Payroll
When employees have payroll questions, they should first see their departmental payroll contact. The departmental contacts should be able to answer most payroll questions.

Address Changes
Employees must notify UHR Employee Records in writing.

Student employees must also notify University Human Resources, even if they have already notified the Registrar's Office of the change.

Direct Deposit Authorization
It is the policy of the University of Virginia that all University employees, regardless of hire date, salaried or wage status, or pay frequency, shall participate in the University’s direct deposit system for payroll disbursement.

Employees should set up Direct Deposit by filling out a Direct Deposit Authorization Form and submitting it to the Payroll Department. Once established, employees may change direct deposit (banking) information through the Employee Self-Service feature of the Integrated System.

Direct deposit authorizations and changes will be processed according to payroll schedules.

Name Changes
Employees must notify UHR Employee Records in writing.

Employees will also need to provide their social security card or other relevant documentation bearing the name change to the UHR Benefits Division.
